Eric's First Day of Kindergarten

As usual, I'm about 6 months behind schedule. So I'll attempt to make up for lost time here...
Eric started Kindergarten in the middle of August. What used to be considered the middle of Summer Vacation has now been turned into the beginning of the school year. It was a day filled with anticipation, excitement and anxiety - for Eric and for us! Before 9 o'clock on August 16, the four of us walked together to Eric's classroom, found his cubby and helped him get settled. After hugs and kisses, we left our big boy for the day. A long day too. Kindergarten isn't just a couple hours anymore - he's there all day, from 9 am to 2:48 pm (to be exact). At the end of the day, Eric emerged, along with thirty of his classmates, both weary-eyed and excited to show off the green dot on his hand. He survived. So did we!
