Favorite March Pics

Two Nights of Passover

We spent the first night doing our own seder as a family of four. The second night Talia, Eric & Andrea were lucky to spend it with our friends Diana, Harrison and Aviva (along with their nanny Nicole). Of course the best part of the evening for all of the kids was finding the afikomen.

Brunch at the Valeras

At the end of March, we spent a beautiful afternoon in the Valera's backyard for a brunch with their friends. With lots of delicious food on the tables, tons of toys inside and an egg hunt throughout the plants and grass, we all enjoyed ourselves. Somehow (if memory serves, it was a very messy cupcake) Talia ended up stripped down to a diaper - with legwarmers - by the end of the afternoon.

Full Circle Farm

On behalf of our playgroup, we were invited to attend a dedication brunch for a local CSA Farm not far from us in mid-May. We enjoyed a really nice spread of food, took a tour of the farm and hammered in our stake to designate our playgroup's tree.

Musicer Visit and a Trip to the Academy of Sciences

Grandma Caryn, Grandpa Glen and Aunt Lori visited in March. As always we enjoyed their visit, with lots of play time and plenty of food. We ventured up to SF to visit the CA Academy of Sciences for the first time. We saw the rainforest area, along with most of the major exhibits. Not surprisingly, the kids enjoyed the play area designed for children under five the most.

Eric's First Time Ice Skating

At the beginning of March, Eric and Andrea headed down to Sharks Ice for free skating. We were lucky enough to meet up with our experienced skater friends Shann (who has played hockey for years) & Brady (with more experiences under his belt than Eric and I combined - and he's only four!). The free skating session was divided into two sections, with a beginner area called a "bucket session." Ten gallon buckets were stacked up at varying heights to allow skaters of all sizes support while moving across the ice. It seemed a much better method than having all skaters hug the wall and bunch up behind one another. With no expectations, we laced up our skates (after a handful of attempts to get the right size, pull them tight enough, and smooth out lumpy socks) and successfully walked across the floor to the rink entrance. Eric mustered enough courage to move onto the ice a few inches, slightly grab a bucket and then cling to me to walk him back onto the safe non-slippery ground. I didn't feel confident at all either, and was really of no help. I would have liked someone to hold my hand and help me on the ice. Unfortunately no one was there to grab hold of my hands and lead me along. Shann offered to do it for Eric, but he was too hesitant to even try. We had fun watching Shann and Brady go around the rink, and even ran into one of Eric's classmates. The biggest enjoyment for Eric though, was seeing the zamboni smooth the ice. All in all, the experience was a success, even if the skating wasn't. Maybe we'll try it again some time.

Really? How do three months pass in the blink of an eye?

So many fun happenings and so little time to write about them. Luckily the pics keep me on track and remind me of the big things that have occurred.
